Most Turkish rebar export offers have increased by $5/mt on the lower end to $435-440/mt FOB over the past week. However, $430/mt FOB still seems to be workable. Sources report 6,000 mt of rebar were traded to Israel at $430/mt FOB for September shipment this week. Moreover, there is information in the market regarding deals to Thailand, but it has not been disclosed by the time of publication.

In the local Turkish market, around 10,000 mt of rebar were traded at $433/mt ex-works and over 30,000 mt were sold at $430/mt ex-works early this week.

In the wire rod segment, Turkey’s export offers are at $470-480/mt FOB, versus $455-465/mt FOB last week, mainly for September-October shipments. As of July 29, the remaining EU wire rod quota is only around 7,000 mt out of 79,478 mt. Meanwhile, a 8,000 mt batch of wire rod was traded to Haiti at $475/mt FOB for October shipment.
