Sources inform SteelOrbis that Brazil is exporting billet at $500-510/mt FOB level with offers at $520-530/mt FOB. Reportedly, while the billet prices have remained stable over the past week, as import billet prices have increased into MENA, Turkey, and South East Asia, sources believe that as long as the present pricing trend continues, billet prices from Brazil “have room to move up.” The risk factor under consideration is softer offer prices on steel products from China which could begin exerting pressure in the export market.
