Ex-Turkey merchant bar prices have increased by $50/mt to $730-750/mt FOB over the past week. The main reasons are higher energy prices, the positive sentiment in the import billet segment and currency fluctuations. Most merchant bar producers are offering for October shipment.

Most European buyers are back from the holidays and making inquiries for the next EU quota period which begins on January 1, 2023. Most international buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases. Northern African buyers are also silent.

Turkish merchant bar export prices are currently at the following levels:

Price ($/mt)

Angle

730-750

IPN-UPN

740-760

Flat bar

760-780

IPE

All prices are on FOB basis and October shipment.
