Ex-CIS rebar and wire rod prices have increased since early August, being rather supported by strong raw materials uptrend than by active demand.
Rebar prices have increased at least $30/mt to around $450-465/mt FOB from Russia and up to $460-470/mt FOB being offered from Ukraine for small lots. In Europe, ex-CIS offers are also present. Black Sea-based Russian mills are in the market with €400-410/mt CFR Bulgaria, while those based closer to the northern region of Russia are offering €410-415/mt delivered to the Baltic region of Europe, SteelOrbis has learned. Moreover, the ex-Ukraine mill has been offering €440/mt delivered to the same area. For export CIS-based mills are offering September-October production.
In the local market of Russia rebar prices for September production have increased by $14-19/mt (RUB 2,500-3,500/mt) over the month to $426/mt (RUB 37,500/mt) CPT Moscow from the two major suppliers. Retail prices in the area, according to the producers, are barely reaching $410/mt (RUB 36,000/mt) ex-warehouse. In the southern region offers have been heard at $430/mt ex-works from the locally located mills and at $440-445/mt CPT from the other regions of Russia.
Local prices in RUB include 20 percent VAT, prices in US dollars do not.
