The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

It is observed that domestic wire rod prices in Turkey have moved sideways during the past week due to the influence of the stable trend of import scrap and billet prices during the given period. Market sources state that Turkish steel mills’ order books are full due to the strong demand received both from their domestic and export markets for a while now, and so steel producers have almost completed their sales target for May.  Additionally, it is heard that a steelmaker in Turkey’s Iskenderun region will halt its production for maintenance purposes at the beginning of March, leading to a decrease in domestic wire rod supply in the region. Under these circumstances, domestic wire rod quotations in Turkey are not expected to move down in the short term.
