SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers’ price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Price change ($/mt)

26.09.2017

Marmara

555-560

22.5

Thrace

540-545

22.5

Izmir

545-550

22.5

Iskenderun

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

With both domestic and import scrap and billet prices in Turkey continuing their downward trend, Turkish wire rod producers’ production costs have also declined, leading them to reduce their domestic wire rod prices. However, despite the downtrend of the local Turkish wire rod market and expectations of a further drop in domestic wire rod quotations, market sources state that steel mills’ order books are currently fairly full.
