Having moved on a downward trend early this week, prices in the local Turkish market have switched to an uptrend in recent days, due to the strengthening of the US dollar against the Turkish lira, increasing by TRY 10-40/mt since October 16. Meanwhile, the uptrend of prices has been supported by the increased number of rebar deals concluded by Turkish mills to the export markets this week, despite the declines observed in import scrap quotations.
