In the current week, demand in the local Turkish rebar market has remained at low levels except in Turkey’s Iskenderun region where demand has been slightly higher. According to market sources, rebar supply in Iskenderun is slightly lower and so domestic rebar prices in this region have remained a little higher than in other regions. Meanwhile, as Turkish rebar suppliers have passed higher import scrap quotations on to their sales prices, domestic rebar prices in Turkey have moved up by TRY 34-51/mt since SteelOrbis’ report published on January 28.
