Following the Turkish lira gaining strength against the US dollar compared to the beginning of last week, demand in the local Turkish rebar market has improved slightly, though it is still is at low levels. Market sources state that unfavorable weather conditions have contributed very significantly to the weakness of demand.
Meanwhile, domestic rebar prices in Turkey have declined by TRY 10-50/mt since January 12 due to the changes recorded in Turkish lira-US dollar exchange rate and also given the weakness of demand.
