Turkish mills’ domestic merchant bar offers have moved up by TRY 20-95/mt over the past two weeks to TRY 2,970-3,280/mt ($511-565/mt) ex-works. Despite the weakness of demand, Turkish merchant bar producers have increased their domestic offers amid the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar, as they report no room to reduce their offers due to the higher scrap quotations recorded at the beginning of the current week. Under the current circumstance, both buyers and sellers in the local Turkish merchant bar market have maintained their cautious stance.
