Since the beginning of September, demand in the local German rebar market has recovered slowly and market sources expect better business and higher local prices to be seen up to the pre-Christmas season. "After the summer holiday, we started to get more and more demand every day. Rebar sales for existing projects are also strong. We can see more price increases until mid-November and afterwards we expect lower market activities due to the Christmas season," a trader told SteelOrbis. In addition, some sources say demand from projects is returning to the pre-Covid levels.

For now, local rebar prices in Germany are at €460-480/mt ex-works depending on the supplier. Most market players expect offer prices to move up shortly.
