Demand in local Turkish rebar market remains weak as buyers fail to gain a clearer perspective

Due to the ongoing economic problems in Turkey, buyers in the sectors which have close ties with the steel market, particularly the construction sector, have maintained their wait-and-see stance at the beginning of the current week. Following the slight depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar, domestic rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara region have remained stable as compared to January 17, while price in other regions have increased by TRY 8-9/mt.

As of today, January 21, traders’ rebar offers in the Turkish domestic market are as follows:
