Demand for US import wire rod continues weak trend

Despite steadily strong demand for wire rod in the US, interest in import offers remains low. However, the offer price range for US import wire rod has shifted downward slightly, which some importers are hoping will attract buyers.

US import wire rod offers from Germany are now in the range of $42.00-$44.00 cwt. ($926-$970/mt or $840-$880/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports, down $0.50 cwt. ($11/mt or $10/nt) in the last two weeks.
