During the week ending June 19, Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod have moved on a stable trend. At present, rebar offers given by Chinese suppliers are at $490-500/mt FOB, while wire rod offers are at $510-520/mt FOB.

During the given week, iron ore prices have moved on an overall upward trend, providing solid support for rebar and wire rod prices in China. However, demand for rebar and wire rod has been slack due to the traditional offseason. Some steelmakers have implemented maintenance work as they seek to lower production during the offseason. It is expected that rebar and wire rod export prices from China will move on a soft trend in the coming week.
