During the week ending January 23, Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod have moved on a stable trend. At present, rebar offers given by Chinese suppliers are at $470-480/mt FOB, while wire rod offers are at $480-490/mt FOB.

During the given week, inventories of rebar and wire rod in the Chinese domestic market have increased, though they are still at relatively low levels, which provides some support for rebar and wire rod export prices from China. Approaching the Chinese New Year holiday (February 2-10), transaction activity for Chinese rebar and wire rod is becoming quieter. It is expected that rebar and wire rod export prices from China will move on a stable trend in the coming week.
