During the week ending January 25, Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod have decreased. At present, boron-added rebar offers to Southeast Asia given by Chinese suppliers are at $430-440/mt FOB, while boron-added wire rod offers from Chinese suppliers to the same destination are at $445-455/mt FOB.

During the given week, Chinese ferrous metal futures prices have declined, exerting a negative impact on rebar and wire rod prices in the domestic spot market, accordingly causing traders and steelmakers to lower their rebar and wire rod export prices. Considering that prices of both raw material and finished steel have been moving sideways recently, it is expected that Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod will move on a stable trend in the coming week.
