Longs prices in Bulgaria have increased over the past month amid stronger scrap prices. As a result, domestic rebar offers have risen by BGN 20-30/mt (€10-15/mt) to BGN 1,140-1,170/mt (€583-598/mt) CPT. The price range is valid for offers from mills and local traders, either from stocks or for March deliveries. Sources report demand is mainly moderate for longs overall but for rebar specifically it has been lagging behind. “Most steel distributors have anticipated a stable to a declining trend and so have postponed their orders,” a source mentioned.
In the wire rod segment, Bulgaria’s domestic prices have settled at BGN 1,170-1,220 (€598-624/mt) CPT. The offers have indicated a BGN 10-40/mt (€5-21/mt) increase over the past month.
