Longs prices in Bulgaria are on a downward track, amid insufficient demand due to continuing lockdowns and seasonal factors. As a result, domestic rebar prices have decreased by BGN 20-30/mt (€10-15/mt) over the past week and by BGN 90-100/mt (€46-51/mt) over the past month to BGN 1,120-1,140/mt (€573-583/mt) CPT. The price range is valid for mills’ and local traders’ offers either from stocks or for February deliveries.
In the wire rod segment, Bulgaria’s domestic prices have settled at BGN 1,160-1,180 (€593-603/mt) CPT. The offers have indicated a BGN 110-120/mt (€56-62/mt) decrease over the past month. Sources report that a small lot was traded from Greece at €610/mt CFR for April shipment last week.
Merchant bars are available at BGN 1,240-1,250/mt (€634-639/mt) CPT, while beam prices are now at BGN 1,310-1,340 (€670-680/mt) CPT, down by BGN 10/mt (€5/mt) on the higher end since January.
In the import segment, fresh ex-Turkey merchant bar offers to Bulgaria are at €590/mt CFR for April shipments. Moreover, ex-Italy beams are available at €685/mt CFR Bulgaria for April shipments.
