The Brazilian producers are negotiating wire rod of the mesh grade for export in a price range of $590/mt to $600/mt, FOB conditions, the same range over the last two weeks, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

In April, Brazil exported 31,500 mt of wire rod, against 28,900 mt in March, according to the local ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC.

The mesh grade product was exported in average at $564/mt, while the drawing grade was exported at an average of $628/mt, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in February.

The main destinations were the US (19,000 mt), South America (10,900 mt), Asia (900 mt) and Central America (700 mt), while the main exporters were ArcelorMittal (21,000 mt) and Gerdau (9,700 mt).
