Brazilian rebar export offers to South American countries increase again

The reference price for the export of rebars by Brazilian producers is now $860/mt, against $850/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.

In October, Brazil exported 33,600mt of rebars, while importing 25,300mt of the product, against 21,600mt and 28,900mt, respectively, in September.

The destination of exported rebars were South American countries (27,200mt at $776/mt) and the US (6,400mt at $703/mt), FOB conditions.

The exporters were ArcelorMittal (19,900mt) and Gerdau (13,700mt).

The imports were all from Turkey, in average at $776/mt, also FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, rebars are offered by producers in medium to large volumes at BRL6,121/mt ($1,101/mt), against BRL6,400/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
