The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports is currently $820/mt, against $860/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In April, Brazil exported 21,100 mt of rebar, in average at $696/mt, while importing 21,800 mt of the product, in average at $496/mt, both FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is offered by producers in medium to large volumes at BRL 6,519/mt ($1,273/mt) against BRL 7,120/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s Southeast and South regions. For the North and Northeastern regions, prices are reportedly BRL 70/mt higher, under the same conditions. The decline reflects competition with the imported product, which had its price reduced over recent days, coupled with exchange rate variations.
