The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports is currently $770/mt, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries, stable over the last two weeks.
In February, Brazil exported 27,800 mt of rebar, in average at $623/mt, while importing 15,800 mt at $504/mt, both FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar offers in medium to large volumes are at BRL 5,159/mt ($954/mt), against BRL 5,766/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s Southeast and South regions. For the North and Northeastern regions, prices are reportedly BRL 70/mt higher, under the same conditions. The reduction reflects chiefly exchange rate variations.
