The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports has increased to a range of $490/mt to $500/mt, against $480/mt to $490/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In October, Brazil exported 26,300 mt of rebar, against 19,600 mt in September. With the exception of 100 mt shipped to Benin, rebar exports of October were destined to South American countries, in average at $513/mt, FOB conditions and different quality grades. The exporters were ArcelorMittal (21,700 mt at $512/mt) and Gerdau (4,600 mt at $517/mt), FOB conditions.
The last offer of import rebar from China was priced at $530/mt, CFR conditions to a port in the south or southeast coast of the country, with reference to the QC/HRB400 grade, unchanged over the last four weeks. No rebar imports were registered in October by Brazilian customs authorities.
In the domestic market, rebar is are offered by producers in medium to large volumes at BRL 4,493/mt ($848/mt), against BRL 4,440/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s Southeast and South regions. For the North and Northeastern regions, prices are reportedly BRL 100/mt higher, under the same conditions.
