The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports is currently $640/mt, against a range of $680/mt to $700/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In January, Brazil exported 37,400 mt of rebar, against 39,500 mt in December. Except for a small volume shipped by Gerdau to Benin at $1,161/mt, the volume of January was shipped to South American countries, in average at $551/mt, FOB conditions. ArcelorMittal shipped 24,200 mt at $557/mt, while Gerdau exported 13,200 mt at $542/mt, both FOB conditions and different quality grades.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar offers for medium to large volumes are now at BRL 4,919/mt ($913/mt) against BRL 5,293/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s Southeast and South regions. For the North and Northeastern regions, prices remain reportedly BRL 70/mt higher, under the same conditions.
