In the Polish rebar market, demand has been low and prices have not changed over the past month amid the ongoing holiday period. However, the general sentiment has remained optimistic since it is widely believed that trading activity will revive in September.

“We expect to see better demand in September because we have sufficient projects in the market and new projects will begin in the fourth quarter. In addition, price increases are expected to be seen early next month,” a trader told SteelOrbis.

Local prices for rebar are at PLN 4,000-4,150/mt (€877-910/mt) ex-works. Import offers have not changed either in the same period and are still at €850-860/mt CPT from Moldova and at €840-850/mt CPT from Russia for late September-October shipments.

Prices exclude 23 percent VAT.
