Long product prices in Algeria, both for local and export customers, have increased significantly over the past week, coming more or less in line with the prices from other producers seen in the Mediterranean region, from Turkey specifically. The solid uptrend in the raw materials segment and cautious demand improvement are still among the reasons for the price increase in the longs market.

Tosyali Algerie has increased its local rebar price by $35/mt (DZD 6,000/mt) over the past week to $618/mt (DZD 98,000/mt) ex-works. The producer’s wire rod offer has increased by $41mt (DZD 7,000/mt) to $713/mt (DZD 113,000/mt) ex-works, SteelOrbis has learned.

In the export segment Tosyali Algerie has increased its rebar and wire rod offers by $10-20/mt over the past week to $640-650/mt FOB and $720-730/mt FOB, respectively.
