Domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 8/mt in the Marmara and Izmir regions of Turkey as of today, January 2, compared to December 30, 2019, while suppliers in the Karabuk and Iskenderun regions have tried to keep their rebar prices firm. However, demand is at a standstill across the country as the business activity is low due to the holiday period. Sources expect the market to gain some clarity next week.
In the Marmara region, Icdas has kept its 12-32 mm domestic rebar prices at TRY 2,703/mt ($454/mt) ex-works. Meanwhile, Izmir Demir Celik has opened its rebar sales on January 2, decreasing its rebar prices by TRY 42/mt ($8/mt) to TRY 2,669/mt ($449/mt) ex-works.
