According to stockists, demand in the Turkish spot flat steel market has remained at low levels over the past two weeks. Buyers have generally postponed their orders and have only made bookings to meet their urgent needs. Market sources state that ongoing problems regarding cash flow have caused the low demand and that they do not expect that demand to recover in the short term.

In the same period, local stockists’ prices have decreased by $20/mt for hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) and declined by $15/mt on average for hot rolled pickled and oiled (HR P&O) materials.
