US Steel follows other US flats producers with price increase announcement

US Steel today announced they too would be raising prices on all US domestic flat rolled steel products by a minimum of $2.00 cwt. ($44/mt or $40/nt), effective with all new orders. The increase follows similar announcements by Nucor, AMUSA and CSI.

Prior to yesterday's announcements, prices were as follows:

HRC $34-$35 cwt. ($750-$772/mt or $680-$700/nt), ex-mill

CRC: $40-$41 ($882-$904/mt or $800-$820/nt), ex-mill

HDG: $39-$41 ($860-$904/mt or $780-$820/nt), ex-mill
