Current US import HDG coil prices have remained steady week-over-week, although sources close to SteelOrbis say that pricing is still uncertain.
“We think the Section 232 tariffs against South Africa, the UAE and Turkey will remain in place,” a source said, “but it’s anyone’s guess what will happen with Brazil.”
At current, Brazil is on a temporary exemptions list set to expire on May 1. Should Brazil receive a permanent exemption, pricing is expected to trend downward.
Trader sources say their customers have continued to place orders, although “no one is happy about paying 25 percent more than they were a couple months ago.”
As with last week, revised pricing for US import Galvalume 0.019x41.5625 Gr80/AZ55 is still pending.
