US import HDG coil prices from Egypt, Vietnam, and the UAE are mostly steady week-over-week, although as in previous weeks, sources close to SteelOrbis say that deals up to $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) below the current range may be available based on tonnage.
Prices from Mexico, which had previously been rescinded out of concerns about Donald Trump’s threat to impose new, punitive tariffs on all Mexican goods shipped to the US, are expected to resume this week. Trump called off the tariff threat on Friday night, after Mexico allegedly agreed to take additional steps to curb illegal immigration through the US Southern border.
