Spot market prices for US import 0.012”x40.875” G30 HDG coil from Egypt continue to remain steady week-over-week. Sources close to SteelOrbis report that while domestic and import pricing are “about the same,” there continues to be interest in booking tons offshore. However, import tons from Egypt are not especially significant.
The most recent data from the US Department of Commerce indicates that during the month of September, the US imported 3,747 mt (census data) of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip from Egypt.
In terms of import Galvalume prices, those have risen week-over-week, which puts import offers in a similar range to domestic offerings. Current spot market prices for US import HDG and Galvalume coil are listed in the chart below.
