Multiple sources across all product lines have indicated that offshore offers to the US, for all steel products, have been temporarily halted until sellers have more clarity regarding the proposed Section 232 tariffs.
Last week, Donald Trump indicated he would announce a 25 percent blanket tariff on all steel imports to the US, however, the pushback from international allies, along with members of the Republican party, has been strong.
Traders say that if the tariff is implemented, they will pass that onto their customers, but for now, import offers are silent.
