In the absence of clarity from the Trump administration regarding the outcome of the Section 232 investigation, trader sources say they’ve resumed offering US import CRC to their customers.

Current pricing for imported CRC from Russia is being heard at $34-$36 cwt. ($750-$794/mt or $680-$720/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports, whereas imported CRC from Mexico is being heard at $35-$36 cwt. ($772-$794/mt or $700-$720/nt), FOB Houston.

“The 232 announcement is already three weeks past due and we just can’t spend any more time sitting around waiting for the administration to decide how this thing is going to play out,” a source said. “We’ll continue to ship until we’re told we can’t.”

Looking onshore, the most commonly heard spot price transaction range for US domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) continues to hold at $38.50-40.00 cwt. ($849-$882/mt or $770-$800/nt), ex-mill, unchanged in the past week.
