US HDG import prices unmoved after last week’s modifications

Last week, SteelOrbis reported that US import 0.012”x40.875” G30 HDG coil prices from UAE, South Africa and Mexico had shifted downward by $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt), while US import Galvalume coil  0.019x41.5625 Gr80/AZ55 from Mexico, Brazil and Korea had shifted upward by $2.00 cwt. ($44/mt or $40/nt), which has been consistent with mills’ desire to get prices for this product closer to $50 cwt. ($1,102/mt or $1,000/nt).

This week, pricing has remained stable. Order activity and inquiries are also level week-over-week. Interest in booking offshore for these products, traders note, is steady.
