In our last report two weeks ago, SteelOrbis reported that many US plate mills were quoting $35 cwt. ($772/mt or $700/nt), although one source knew of a buyer who bought some tons at $32.50 cwt. ($717/mt or $650/nt), ex-mill.

This week, the official price range once again revised downward, to $32-$34 cwt. ($705-$750/mt or $640-$680/nt), ex-mill. The continued decline, sources note, is linked to extremely short lead times; in some cases, plate can reportedly be delivered in as soon as two weeks.
