Little, if anything has changed with regard to the US domestic and import HDG and Galvalume markets, as many within the US have taken the week off to celebrate the 4th of July holiday. As such, order activity and inquiries are trending quiet.
What is of note, however, is yesterday’s election of a new Mexican president; some believe that Lopez Obrador will make a strong attempt to preserve NAFTA, as many of the Mexico’s elites believe it’s economically beneficial. Others, however, remain undecided as to whether the election of the new president will benefit, or be a hindrance to the Trump administration, and US steel trade policy with Mexico, moving forward.
