Ongoing pricing volatility within the US domestic HDG market has many domestic buyers reluctant to US import Galvalume coil, despite last week’s marked dip in prices.
Buyers say they are taking a wait-and-see approach, especially since there is concern that domestic prices for Galvalume coil could still revise downward. The current spread between US domestic and import Galvalume coil, sources note, is not attractive enough to spur significant interest.
Order activity for 0.012’ G30 coil, however, has remained stable
US HDG import data is still unavailable, as US government websites have been offline for more than 30 days due to the government shutdown.
