Demand for domestic producers’ products in the local Turkish hot rolled coil (HRC) market has remained at low levels over the past week, while Turkish producers’ HRC prices have risen slightly as a result of higher global HRC prices. Following the rises in Chinese HRC prices, ex-CIS HRC prices moved up as well, and so Turkish producers have increased their HRC prices by $10/mt compared to a week ago to $500-520/mt ex-works.
On the other hand, in the local HRC spot market, demand has remained weak, while traders’ prices have followed a stable trend.
The domestic sales prices of traders for local and imported hot rolled flat steel products in the Eregli and Gebze regions of Turkey are as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) | |
Eregli | Gebze | |
2-12 mm HRC | 520-540 | 530-560 |
1.5 mm HRS | 560-580 | 575-605 |
2-12 mm HRC (for large tonnages) |
