Turkish HRC market awaits price increase

During the past week, demand from buyers for domestic producers’ products in the local Turkish hot rolled coil (HRC) market has continued to remained weak, while Turkish mills have been preparing to increase their prices with the support of rising raw material prices, and also on the back of improved export orders. However, producers’ domestic HRC prices have remained in the range of $520-550/mt ex-works for the time being. 
 
In the local Turkish HRC spot market, buyers are still making purchases only to meet their immediate needs, while the HRC prices of traders have remained stable amid ongoing cash flow problems. 
 
The domestic sales prices of traders for local and imported hot rolled flat steel products in the Eregli and Gebze regions of Turkey are as follows:
