Turkish HDG prices remain unchanged

Over the past week, demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) market has remained slack as buyers have preferred to monitor the price movements in the global flat steel market, with the sluggish demand exerting pressure on Turkish coated coil producers’ price levels. However, Turkish coated coil producers are unwilling to decrease their prices as hot rolled coil (HRC) prices have maintained their strength in the domestic and global markets.

Accordingly, domestic producers’ HDG prices in the local Turkish market have moved sideways week on week, excluding 18 percent VAT and are at the following levels:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Weekly change ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

780-800

0

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

720-765

0

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

675-690

Meanwhile, Turkish mills’ HDG export quotations have also remained stable week on week at $745-775/mt FOB.
