Demand for import flat steel products in Turkey is still weak, just like demand for locally produced materials, while import flat steel offers to Turkey, which are expected to be announced soon, will likely decline by $10-15/mt as compared to their previous levels given the softening trend in global markets. Even though foreign suppliers, except Russia-based Severstal, have not yet announced their new offers for Turkey, prices are already under pressure to decrease.
Meanwhile, Russian hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to Turkey are now standing at $585/mt CFR, dropping by $16/mt as compared to last month's list prices, while cold rolled coil (CRC) offers are at $700/mt CFR, decreasing by $15/mt.
In the meantime, the most recent flat steel import offers from other sources are as follows: Romanian HRC and CRC offers to Turkey were at $575-580/mt CFR and $670-680/mt CFR respectively, while ex-Ukraine HRC offers were standing at $540-550/mt CFR and CRC offers were at $630-640/mt CFR.
