This week, Turkish buyers have started to show interest in import flat steel offers in order to meet their immediate needs, since Turkish flat steel producers’ prices for their domestic market are still considered to be on the high side. In the given period, Turkish buyers have concluded deals for flat steel from the CIS region, buying 20,000 mt of HRC at $510-515/mt CFR and purchasing 10,000 mt of CRC from CIS-based producers at $570-575/mt CFR.

As a result of negotiations made during the deals concluded this week, import flat steel offers to Turkey have declined week on week. Ukrainian and Russian HRC offers to Turkey have moved down by $10/mt to $500/mt CFR and $510-520/mt CFR, respectively. Additionally, Ukrainian cold rolled coil (CRC) offers to Turkey have decreased by $10/mt during the past week to $570-580/mt CFR and Russian CRC offers to Turkey have declined by $20/mt over the same period to $570-590/mt CFR.
