Global nickel prices have continued to decline rapidly, while stainless steel demand in Turkey has remained weak. In the meantime, prices have generally remained unchanged, though suppliers are concluding deals at lower prices in order to attract demand. As of July 24, the three-month nickel price at the London Metal Exchange (LME) had declined to $15,685/mt.
SteelOrbis has heard from market insiders that the sales prices of Far Eastern and European origin premium quality 2 mm 304/2B stainless cold rolled coil (CRC) in the Turkish domestic market are at $3,000-3,100/mt, while prices of Far Eastern origin premium quality 2 mm 430/2B stainless CRC are standing at $1,800-1,900/mt. The prices are on ex-warehouse basis and exclude VAT.
