During the past week ending March 15, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have moved sideways, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at medium levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) prices in the Chinese domestic market have remained its stable. The steel production restrictions for the duration of the annual sessions of China’s parliament and its advisory body in Beijing and the shutdown of all substandard steel production have provided a certain degree of support for PPGI prices in the domestic market. On the other hand, demand from downstream users has been slack, exerting negative pressure on PPGI prices in the spot market. It is thought that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely continue to move sideways in the coming week.
