South American import prices for HRC and CRC still declining

A source told SteelOrbis that South American import prices for both HRC and CRC are still declining.

A Brazilian trader said HRC import prices for Peru and Ecuador from China are reaching as low as $280/mt CFR LO, down from $290-300/mt CFR LO in October. Japan and Korea are said to be offering the same product within a $270-275/mt CFR LO range, according to a source.

Chinese CRC offers to Peru and Ecuador are reaching $300-320/mt CFR LO, down from $340/mt CFR LO in October, a source said.

Additionally, heavy plate import prices for the two South American countries are reportedly reaching $295-300/mt CFR LO, a $5-15/mt decline from October.
