Due to the Orthodox Easter and Labor Day holidays earlier this week, trading activity for import flat steel in Turkey has been extremely slack during the week. Since most market players in the CIS are still on holiday, ex-CIS flat steel offers to Turkey have remained unchanged week on week. According to market sources, Turkish buyers are likely to restart their price inquiries next week, though they are expected to continue to limit their bookings in line with their immediate needs as they want to enter the summer season with minimum inventory levels.

During the past week, ex-CIS HRC offers to Turkey have remained stable at $485-510/mt CFR, while cold rolled coil (CRC) offers from the CIS region to the same destination have remained unchanged in the same period at $565-590/mt CFR.
