Over the past week, domestic producers’ prices in the local Turkish HRC market have increased by $10/mt on the lower end to $620-640/mt ex-works, supported by the ongoing uptrend of flat steel prices in the global market. However, buyers are cautious about making fresh bookings, in anticipation of a price decline from domestic mills resulting from the downward trend of iron ore prices.
On the other hand, in the spot market, buyers are also hesitating to conclude new HRC deals amid unresolved liquidity problems, while traders’ prices have remained stable week on week.
The domestic sales prices of traders for local and imported hot rolled flat steel products in the Eregli and Gebze regions of Turkey are as follows:
