Prices remain firm in local Turkish HRC market

Over the past week, demand for domestic producers' products in the local Turkish hot rolled coil (HRC) market has continued to be characterized by sluggishness, though prices have remained stable at $625-635/mt ex-works.  

According to market sources, Turkish buyers are postponing their bookings from mills in order to monitor the global markets, but demand for Turkish HRC in the export markets is lively, which supports the ongoing firmness of producers' HRC prices in the domestic market.

Meanwhile, demand for domestic HRC in the Turkish spot market is also weak, while local traders' prices have remained unchanged in the given period. The domestic sales prices of traders for local hot rolled flat steel products in the Eregli and Gebze regions of Turkey are as follows:
