Over the past week, prices in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized coil (HDG) market have continued their upward movement. As their production costs have increased amid the rises in hot rolled coil (HRC) prices and since their order books are fairly full, Turkish HDG producers have been unwilling to make new offers, while some of them have closed their sales since their HRC inventories, used as feedstock, are at low levels. Under these circumstances, prices of domestic HDG in Turkey have increased by $30/mt week on week.
